This website launched on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, as an extension of the printed Country Music Bulletin and is designed to provide a service and resource for the general public as well as the Australian country music industry.

“The quarterly print publication is a dedicated industry or “trade” magazine specifically targetted only to the industry,” said Publisher Bob Kirchner.

“We’ve seen the need for some time now for a broader, dedicated Australian country music news website.

“There are a number of good sites that provide state or regional information and others that have been set up by fans or act as a general digest of media releases.

“countrymusicbulletin.com.au will be a professionally written and compiled news site which will become the news reference of record for Australian country music,” Bob said.

“The website will cover more general news of interest to fans as well as the industry with a number of dedicated special features such as album reviews, festival and event guide as well as a forum where readers can submit to discussions on any number of topics.

“We will be developing an extensive network of links to promote the site and advertising and promotional opportunities will be available.”

The website is compiled by Bob Kirchner, a long time media professional who was responsible for building the Country Music Association of Australia's website and news service into one of the most popular sites in the Australian music business.
